Best Employers in Hospitality 2011

Over 300 employers from across the hospitality industry converged on the Lancaster London Hotel last night to celebrate the best employers from the UK’s hotel, restaurant, pub, bar and catering sectors.

The inaugural 2011 Best Employers in Hospitality Awards England & Wales, organised by hospitality recruitment specialist Caterer.com in partnership with learnpurple, saw winners across 10 different award categories, a ranking of the top 30 employers in England and Wales and an overall winner. Blue Arrow Catering & Blend sponsored Best Independent Contract Caterer Employer category of which Baxterstory was the proud winners.

"These are the only awards that recognise employers in the eyes of those that truly count – the employees. We are delighted to see such a diverse range of businesses from large to very small represented here tonight. These businesses should be truly proud of their status as the industry’s best employers" said Caterer.com's Ian Burke.

Based on the opinions of over 5,000 employees working for the companies that entered, the results were gathered using an employee engagement survey designed by award partners, learnpurple. The results were based solely on the responses from employees and thus offer an unbiased view based on true employee perceptions.

The awards were hosted by Scottish comedian and TV presenter Fred Macaulay, with the winners being announced by X-Factor voice, Peter Dickson.

Collecting the top accolade as Best Independent Restaurant Employer and overall winner was The Glassblowing House Ltd in Plymouth, whose focus on career advancement and staff wellbeing showed through in the results.
